Package Design
Rhode Island School of Design, 2008
CD package design for OHM, a compilation CD of early experimental music. This was a short-term RISD project led by Cliff Stoltz, to provide CD graphics, package sleeve template, materials and graphics, as well interior booklet, for one CD. Inspired by the music itself (on repeat, while designing) I chose to display my design process of constructing the sleeve die line and simultaneously testing my typography, on the final product. Ultimately the overprinting was staged to reflect the haphazard typography of testing for size and ink coverage, on the final product so that it could in fact be read and used.Packaging2011 -

Concept and design for a group of essays from El Lissitzky, Dan Friedman and Beatrice Ward. Weaving together essays from three writers on typography, the design of this book has a non-linear organization, much like a visual essay. Common themes that the three artists faced, especially across generational and technological differences, helped organize the essays in relation to one another throughout the book.Editorial DesignRISD 2008 -
Identity Design, Invitation, Street Signage, Microsite
Korn Design, 2010
Identity design for the 2010 Taste of the North End event, designed to carry over as a system for future years. The full package includes logo and promotional materials such as banners, postcards, online marketing, Microsite, online ticket purchasing, street banner across Hanover Street in Boston’s North End, Invitations with reply card, and printed program.
The logotype is inspired by vintage italian typography, particularly in signage. All type is hand-drawn very loosely, and stacks together as if seen by a pedestrian on the street.
Shown is a selection of sketches during the process.Branding, Print Design2011 -

Korn Design, 2011
The brand experience for Bedford/St. Martins builds on the core values of rigor, creativity, innovation and accessibility. The new identity includes the icon of the letter “b,” a simple typographic solution incorporating the additional meaning of three underlines, a commonly-known proofreading mark for “capitalize.” The project included reseach, messaging, concept, design and execution. It is based on the typeface Nobel, with slight modifications.Branding2011 -

Rhode Island School of Design, Degree Project, 2008
Shown are the components of a semester-long research and design project. The solution addresses the “dialogue,” or conversation, between objects when juxtaposed against one another in the home or in the gallery. The project includes development of the concept, scale model of an exhibition space, poster and bound book outlining my research and process throughout the project.Exhibition Design, Print DesignRISD 2008
