Our Dialogue
Degree Project, 5.08
Poster, booklet and model for an exhibition concept. My solution was to use the analogy of a "conversation" to make the viewer aware of relationships between objects of design today.
Typographic Talk
Book Design, 12.07
Book Design integrating typographic essays by Beatrice Warde, El Lissitzky and Dan Friedman, with select contemporary design samples that relate to ideas in the writings. The layout and captions make interesting comparisons between the essays and comments on the relationships among typographers across generations.
OHM
CD Package, 10.08
A CD Digipak for music titled OHM: Early Gurus of Electronic Music. It is experimental, frozen in a mid-design moment where final design appears to be a mock-up. Type is scattered, but placed in a way that allows the viewer to gain information about the disc at various stages of opening the package.

Box calendar inspired by the work of 6 artists and six designers. Each month is developed from the shared color palettes of one artist and one designer. (Alexander Calder and Sol Lewitt, October.)
Torino Winter Games

Poster design for a single dayís events in the Torino Winter Games. The poster is such that it could be updated and reprinted daily as events and times change.
Three Designers

Book design using essays on Achille Castiglioni, Charles and Ray Eames and Philippe Starck. All imagery and text was provided in the assignment.
Lightness

Series of compositions based on the chapter titled Lightness in Italo Calvinoís Six Memos for the Next Millennium. The compositions capture Lightness as Calvino describes it.

Tomato Cookbook

Book design inspired by tomatoes. Process involved concept, photography, typography, gathering recipes, printing and binding.
Chinatown Book
Book Design, 11.07
Book displaying the narrative of the film Chinatown, directed by Roman Polanski. The book shows the plot of the film through the dialogue, especially in the power struggle between the main character (Jack Nicholson) and the rest of the cast.
Visual Systems
Research Book, 5.07
Book of process as research for a class focusing on visual systems: the relationship between constants, variability, parts and the whole. The content of the research is a series of units (based on three prominent architects), which were then repeated to form a series of patterns.
Rhinoceros Exhibition
Exhibition Model, 12.08
Model for a hypothetical outdoor exhibition that explores the evolution, habitat and human influence of rhinoceroses. Model is built at 1:10 scale.
MoMA Museum Studies
The Museum of Modern Art, 3.09
As intern in the creative dept. at MoMA, I was selected to design the identity for the student-curated exhibition titled "The Way I See It." Components included exhibition identity, postcards and wall text. The Museum Studies program is a unique partnership between MoMA and the New York City public school system, allowing high school students to both submit artwork for the show and apply to be within a class of student-curators. "The Way I see It" identity is my interpretation of the student's ideas for the show.
Weymouth Honda Site

In progress. Website for a Honda Dealership in Weymouth, Massachusetts. I have been using the design of this site as a ginny-pig for learning web design and working with an outside developer. It has been an ongoing process since the middle of my final semester of RISD, teaching me a great deal about site structure, usability, and my own design process.
